PanelSight 1.0.13: new autopilot panels, and knobs made for touch

PanelSight 1.0.13 adds autopilot controls to seven aircraft and makes every knob and button easier to use on a touchscreen.

New autopilot controls

• Cirrus Vision Jet: the autopilot and autothrottle controllers.
• XCub, NXCub and Draco X: the Garmin GMC 507.
• TBM 930 and King Air 350i: the glareshield autopilot bar.
• PC-12 NGX: the Honeywell guidance panel.

Radios and instruments

The C152, C185F and DR400 now have the Bendix/King KX 155 nav/com radio, and the DR400 gets the CDI it was missing. On these three aircraft, the Instrument Switcher also has new 6-PACK and NAV tabs.

Easier to use by touch

Every interaction area is now larger, so it is easier to hit with a finger. Dragging a knob now turns it in step with how far your finger moves, at the same rate all the way, so a long straight swipe keeps it turning. The + and − step buttons have a new design, so they clearly look like buttons you can press.

Other changes

The UP, DN and VNV autopilot keys on the G1000 PFD now work correctly on the Bonanza G36, DA40, DA62, Corvalis and C208B Grand Caravan.

Every panel now has a thin light edge, so it stands out against a dark cockpit. And PanelSight now waits until you close the simulator before it tells you about an update, so the notice appears where you can see it.

Who this is for

• If you fly the Vision Jet, XCub, NXCub, Draco X, TBM 930, King Air 350i or PC-12 NGX, you can now set the autopilot from PanelSight.
• If you fly the C152, C185F or DR400, you now have a nav/com radio to tune.
• If you use a touchscreen, every control is easier to hit, and knobs turn at a steady rate.
• If you fly one of the G1000 aircraft listed above, the autopilot keys on the PFD now work correctly.

How to update

PanelSight checks for new versions by itself. When one is out, a notice appears next to the PanelSight icon in the Windows taskbar. Click the notice, then click Update now in Settings. PanelSight downloads the update, installs it and starts again on its own. You can also run the installer from the download page again.

Updating always installs the newest version, which includes everything in this release.
