PanelSight 1.0.12: a better Settings window, and pop-outs you can bring back

PanelSight 1.0.12 makes the Settings window easier to use, lets you bring back pop-outs after you close them, and fixes several problems with touchscreens.

A better Settings window

Settings has grown a lot, so it now scrolls instead of cutting off what does not fit. It also has a real minimize button in the title bar, and new Exit, Restart and Check for updates buttons. The Minimize to tray button is now called Close to tray.

Re-open pop-outs

Close all pop-outs used to work in one direction only: once the screens were closed, they stayed closed until you reloaded the aircraft or restarted PanelSight. A new Re-open pop-outs button next to it brings them back.

Glass 1, Glass 2, Glass 3

Extra monitors used to be given a role, PFD or MFD. They now take a position instead: Glass 1, Glass 2 or Glass 3. The old names were not accurate for every aircraft. For the same reason, the PFD/MFD switcher is now called the Instrument Switcher.

Touchscreen fixes

• Press and hold with a finger on a knob's interaction area now works. Before, it acted as a tap no matter how long you held it.
• The keys under a knob's interaction area no longer stop responding for a couple of seconds after you tap to close it.
• On the G3000 and G5000 touchscreen controllers, the frequency knob now swaps the standby and active frequencies while you hold it, instead of when you let go.

Who this is for

• If you use extra monitors, the screen positions have new names, and Re-open pop-outs saves you a reload.
• If you use a touchscreen, the knob fixes above apply to you.
• If you fly an aircraft with a G3000 or G5000, the frequency knob swaps when you expect it to.

How to update

PanelSight checks for new versions by itself. When one is out, a notice appears next to the PanelSight icon in the Windows taskbar. Click the notice, then click Update now in Settings. PanelSight downloads the update, installs it and starts again on its own. You can also run the installer from the download page again.

Updating always installs the newest version, which includes everything in this release.
